In honor of Black History Month I dedicate this week’s theme to The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King

One of my favorite quotes from Dr King is

They fear each other because they don’t know each other, and they don’t know each other because they don’t communicate with each other, and they don’t communicate with each other because they are separated from each other.” - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr

The word Separated is the complete opposite of “@One” The righteous leader knows that the goal is not to be in agreement with each other but to be at one with the Father, in a spirit of mindfulness (moment by moment).

As the new week approaches, don’t get caught off guard. Offenses will come (Luke 17:1). People will fiercely disagree and even add theatrics to their different point of view, don’t fall for it. Stay @One (John 5:19). Don’t engage in inane conversations.

You may be amazed to know how many married couples can tell a whole lot about what their spouses do or don’t do, (2 Corinthians 5:16) but they truly do not know who their mate is.

Dr king gives us a clue as to why. They don’t communicate with each other. They speak to each other, talk to each other, but they don’t communicate with each other (exchange meaning and understanding with each other).

I Corinthians 6:17

“But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.”

Thank you Dr King for giving us such a profound statement. Let’s fight the good fight of faith. We all know “The Just (Righteous) shall live by faith.” We can quote it, we can preach on it, we can write books on it. Bit do we live it on a consistent basis.

Dr. King has shown us that the key to living @One (joined to the Lord) is for our communication to be embedded with the nature and character of the Father and not to be driven by the “W” - Winning.
