When you hear the term “Rags to Riches” what comes to mind? Undoubtedly, what comes to mind is a dramatic shift in economic status.
This weekend let’s consider another perspective on RAGS to RICHES.
22 Strip yourselves of your former nature [put off and discard your old unrenewed self] which characterized your previous manner of life and becomes corrupt through lusts and desires that spring from delusion;
23 And be constantly renewed in the spirit of your mind [having a fresh mental and spiritual attitude],
24 And put on the new nature (the regenerate self) created in God’s image, [Godlike] in true righteousness and holiness.
So at the end the end of the day (or in the case of this weekly devotion, at the end of the week) we need to ask ourselves, “what clothes are we wearing?”
DO you know folks who:
a) Can effortlessly quote the Word of God
b) Are gifted authors
c) Are inspiring preachers
d) Have a heart for missions
yet, display insolence, arrogance, impatience, in their natural discourse (outside the realm of traditional ministry)?
I pray that we will not be numbered with this group but that we will be featured as ones who (on a daily basis) sought opportunities to shift from RAGS to RICHES. So what’s the additional perspective on RAGS to RICHES? Glad you asked …….
RAGS (That we put off)
G - Greed
RICHES (That we put on)
What’s in your wardrobe?
